Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple, recently arrived in India for the opening of the iPhone maker’s first retail store in Mumbai. Apple Inc. will establish its first store in India at the Jio World Drive mall in the Bandra-Kurla Complex in Mumbai. The iPhone manufacturer’s first retail store will open today (18 April). During his visit to India, CEO of Apple Tim Cook encountered a number of renowned dignitaries from across the country.
On Monday, a number of Bollywood celebrities, including Raveena Tandon, AR Rahman, Mouni Roy, Madhuri Dixit, Suraj Nambiar, vocalist Armaan Malik, and Farah Khan Ali, attended the private store launch event.
Celebrities shared photos of themselves with Apple’s CEO Tim cook on their social media accounts.
Padma Shri Raveena Tandon uploaded a series of photos from the event to Instagram and captioned them, “A night out at @apple.. #timcook.”
Armaan Malik posted a photograph with Tim on Instagram with the caption, “Met two legends and saw my song Sun Maahi at the opening of India’s first Apple store!” What a beautiful evening!”
Before the inauguration of the retail store, the Apple CEO rambled across Mumbai. Cook is rumored to have attended a business meeting at Mukesh Ambani’s home in Antilla, where he met other prominent industrialists, including Tata Sons chairman N Chandrasekaran.
He also took the opportunity to dine with Madhuri Dixit at the Ambani family’s favorite restaurant on Wada pav, a popular local snack.
Cook thanked Dixit for introducing him to the “delicious” Wada pav at the multi-cuisine restaurant, describing the dish as “delicious.” This was the actor’s second encounter with Cook during his multiple trips to India.
Cook, who has previously visited India multiple times, is also anticipated to meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday in New Delhi.

Apple has recently increased its handset and component sourcing from India in an effort to diversify its supply chain, which is currently heavily reliant on China and was severely impacted during the Covid pandemic due to extended lockdowns in the neighboring nation.
