Tata Tiago EV was launched by the company in the month of September last. The starting price of this affordable electric car that comes with two different battery packs has been fixed at Rs 8.49 lakh (ex-showroom). Its higher range version gives a driving range of up to 315 kilometers in a single charge.

Tata Motors has emerged as a leading carmaker in the electric wheelie segment. The company is selling a total of three electric cars in the domestic market. Recently Tata Motors launched its new Tiago EV, and this small electric car has created a buzz as soon as it hit the market. According to the reports, the company has registered bookings of more than 20,000 units of this affordable electric car within just 2 months. People are increasingly becoming vocal towards electric vehicles and these booking figures are also a strong proof of this fact.

However, apart from Tata Tiago EV, there are many other electric cars in the market, which are known for better driving range. But the price and driving range of this car make it better. Tata Motors launched the Tiago Electric at the end of last September and the starting price of the car has been fixed at Rs 8.49 lakh (ex-showroom). The company can start its delivery from January next year. Tata Motors had recently announced that the company had registered bookings of 10,000 units within just 24 hours of the opening of bookings for this car.

Tata Tiago Electric comes with a total of two battery pack options, in which a 19.2kWh capacity battery pack is available and as a second option a 24kWh battery pack is given. Which give a driving range of up to 250 km and 315 km respectively. The electric motor of the small range model of this car generates 60bhp power and 105Nm torque, while the higher range generates 74bhp power and 114Nm torque.

Battery Charging:

The Tiago EV is based on Tata Motors’ Ziptron high-voltage electrical architecture and supports 50kW DC fast charging. When connected to a 50kW DC fast charger, the Tiago EV’s battery can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in just 57 minutes. This car has been introduced with two onboard charging facilities, its 19.2kWh battery version has been given a slightly less powerful 3.3kW charger. At the same time, with the big pack, the option of fast charging of 7.2 kW capacity is also available, due to which the battery of the car gets fully charged in just 3.5 hours.

In terms of looks and design, the car is similar to its petrol model. Features include a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Harman sound system with four-speakers, automatic air conditioning, foldable outside rear view mirrors (ORVM’s), rain-sensing wipers and steering. -Mounted controls included. It also gets cruise control and regenerative braking as other features. Apart from this, the car also gets dual front airbags, cornering brake control, tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), anti-lock braking system (ABS) with electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD) and a rear-view camera.
