5G Rollout Airtel: Telecom operator Bharti Airtel is going to invest Rs 28000 crore to show more speed in 5G service rollout. The company informed on Wednesday that Bharti Airtel can invest Rs 27000-28000 crores to focus on 5G rollout. On one hand, the company is focusing on increasing its capital expenditure by 10-15 percent, while on the other hand, there is no emphasis on increasing the premium plan for the company’s 5G service. That is, the company is not going to charge much for providing 5G service to its customers. The company believes that moving from one network to another in other countries and increasing rates has caused loss to companies, so Bharti Airtel will not do so in India.
Annual capex used to be 24000-25000 crores
earlier the annual capex of the company used to be between Rs 24000-25000 crores. An official said that this capex was largely spent for radio (mobile antenna), fiber, broadband, enterprise technology data center.
According to the data released by the Ministry of Telecom, Bharti Airtel has so far rolled out 3293 base stations. These are all 5G base stations. The official said that the company expects mobile service rates to increase but it will depend on the market.
Increased the price of 28 days plan
Let us tell you that the company has increased the minimum recharge for 28 days mobile phone service. The company has increased it by 57 percent and in Haryana and Odisha, this plan has now become Rs.155. Apart from this, the company has also discontinued its Rs 99 minimum recharge plan. In Haryana and Odisha, the company is offering a plan of Rs 155, in which unlimited calling, 1 GB data and 300 SMS are available. The pilot run of this new tariff has received a good response.
First operator to launch private 5G network
The company says that it is the first private company in the country to operate a 5G based network. The company had set up a 5G based captive private network in partnership with Mahindra’s Chakan manufacturing facility. The company has denied the purchase of premium spectrum of 700 Mhz band. The company said that it has enough spectrum, which includes 850 and 900 MHz bands.
