Today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will speak via video conferencing at the closing ceremony of Saurashtra Tamil Sangam.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), the program was inspired by PM Modi’s desire to promote the spirit of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat through initiatives that reveal and help rediscover the ancient ties between people from different regions of the country. Earlier, the Kashi Tamil Sangam was organized with this in view.
This vision is advanced by the Saurashtra Tamil Sangam, which celebrates the shared culture and heritage of Gujarat and Tamil Nadu.
From the Saurashtra region, many people migrated to Tamil Nadu centuries ago. The Saurashtra Tamil Sangam allowed Tamils from Saurashtra to reconnect with their roots, according to a PMO statement.
