Washington: The White House said on Monday that the United States does not know whether or not the unidentified objects that were shot down by American warplanes in recent days were spying on their territory.
During a news briefing, John Kirby, a spokesperson for the White House’s national security office, said that “we don’t know for sure if they had a surveillance element to them, but we can’t rule it out.”
The White House has also said that there is no evidence of extraterrestrial involvement in connection with the mysterious items. This comes after a senior United States official refused to completely exclude the possibility.
Karine Jean-Pierre, the Secretary of State’s Press Secretary, said to the media that there is no evidence to support the existence of extraterrestrial beings. “With these recent takedowns, (I) wanted to make sure that the American people understood that,” she said.
The previous day, at a briefing, the question of whether or not aliens or extraterrestrials had been ruled out was posed to General Glen VanHerck, who is the chief of the United States Northern Command.
“I have not excluded any possibilities. At this moment, we are continuing our assessment of every danger, as well as prospective threats that we are not yet aware of, that is heading into North America in an effort to identify it “VanHerck stated.

On February 4, a United States warplane is believed to have shot down a Chinese surveillance balloon. Three further unexplained objects were brought down in the following days.
It is not quite apparent if the three unidentified objects that were shot down over Alaska on Friday, over Canada on Saturday, and over Lake Huron on Sunday had any link to a much larger white balloon that was shot down over the Atlantic Ocean.
