Gurugram man arrested for stealing flower pots: One person was detained in connection with the theft of flower pots set up in New Delhi for the G20 summit. A video had previously gone viral on social media, depicting two individuals purportedly stealing the pots.
Monday’s incident occurred in front of the Ambience shopping centre on the Delhi-Gurugram motorway. In the video, men can be seen loading these containers into an SUV.After District Commissioner (DC) Nishant Kumar Yadav became aware of a viral tweet and asked the Gurugram police to intervene and investigate, a complaint was filed.
The details revealed that the detained individual was identified as Manmohan, a resident of Gandhi Nagar.Manmohan was being interrogated as the police continued their search for another suspect in the case.
The police reported recovering a total of ten stolen flower containers from the accused’s possession.
The vehicle containing the pots was also recovered, police said, adding that the vehicle had a Hisar licence plate and was registered to Manmohan’s wife.Initial investigations revealed that Manmohan and his accomplice were returning to Gurugram from Delhi when they spotted the pots and stopped their vehicle.They then placed the vases in their vehicle and departed the scene.
This person is brazenly ‘lifting’ flowerpots in broad daylight at Shankar Chowk in Gurugram. He owns a big car, possibly has a fancy house.
Sadly no passer-by stopped him or questioned him.

THE CASE
Numerous flower-filled planters were placed here in advance of the G20 meetings, which are scheduled for March 1 through 4.
The Metropolitan Green Planner, Urban Environment Division of GMDA lodged a complaint, which stated: “Some passersby/thieves have been observed stealing flower pots from the side of the road. A video of the theft of flower containers is also going viral on Twitter, with the licence plate number HR 20 AY 0006 visible on the car used in the theft.”
“Therefore, take appropriate action against whoever steals the flower pots, given the significance of the national-level event, and also deploy police personnel for the security of the flower pots planted on both sides of the road, so that the G-20 event can be carried out without incident,” the document added.

The unidentified suspect was charged with larceny under section 379 (theft) of the Indian Penal Code at the DLF Phase 3 police station.”FIR has been registered. We are attempting to identify the suspect and his or her vehicle. They will shortly be arrested “said DCP Vij.
