During his visit to his parliamentary constituency, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will deliver a speech at the “One World TB Summit” in Varanasi on March 24 and inaugurate projects worth over Rs 1,780 crore.
On World Tuberculosis Day, Modi will deliver a speech at the One World TB Summit, which is being organized by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) and Stop TB Partnership, an organization hosted by the United Nations that amplifies the voices of people, communities, and countries affected by the disease, according to a statement.
He will also release India’s Annual TB Report 2023.
In addition, the prime minister will recognize certain states, Union Territories, and districts for their efforts to eradicate the disease.
In March 2018, during the “End TB” summit conducted in the nation’s capital, Modi had urged the country to meet its TB-related sustainable development goals targets by 2025, five years earlier than required.
According to the statement, the One World TB Summit will provide an occasion for additional deliberation on the targets as the nation moves forward to achieve its goals.
In the last nine years, Modi has placed special emphasis on transforming the landscape of Varanasi and improving the quality of life for the city’s residents, according to a statement highlighting impending development initiatives.
During a ceremony held on the Sampurnanand Sanskrit University grounds, he will dedicate and place the foundation stones for projects totaling over Rs 1,780 crore.
He will set the cornerstone for the passenger ropeway from the station at Varanasi Cantt to Godowlia.
The endeavor is estimated to cost approximately Rs 645 billion. The ropeway system will span 3.75 kilometers and have five stations. It was stated that this will facilitate the movement of tourists, pilgrims, and Varanasi residents.
Under the Namami Ganga Scheme, he will also lay the foundation stone for a 55 MLD sewage treatment facility in Bhagwanpur, which will cost more than Rs 300 crore to construct. Under the Khelo India Scheme, the prime minister will lay the cornerstone for Phases 2 and 3 of redevelopment work at the Sigra Stadium.
The prime minister will inaugurate 19 drinking water schemes as part of the Jal Jeevan Mission, which will benefit more than three lakh residents in 63 panchayats.

In order to further strengthen the rural drinking water system, he will also set the cornerstone for 59 drinking water schemes as part of the mission. Modi will also initiate a number of additional development initiatives.
