Fire in Bhopal-Delhi Vande Bharat Express coach in Madhya Pradesh, 22 passengers onboard

According to the news agency ANI, all passengers are secure and the fire has been extinguished.

According to Indian Railways, a fire was detected in the battery box of one of the coaches as the train left Rani Kamalapati station, formerly known as Habibganj, en route to New Delhi’s Nizamuddin.

An official of the Indian Railways stated that the train was dispatched at 10:05 a.m. following a comprehensive inspection.

“Fire brigade arrived on time, and the fire was extinguished at 7:58 a.m.,” a railway official was quoted as saying by ANI.

“We’ve received word that a fire and smoke broke out in the battery compartment of coach C-14 on Vande Bharat Express 20171, which runs between Rani Kamlapati Station and Hazrat Nizamuddin Terminal (Delhi). The train was halted at the Kurwai Kethora station. The fire was extinguished at 7:58 am, according to Rahul Shrivastava, West Central Railway’s chief public relations officer.

According to PTI, there were 20 to 22 passengers in the coach, and they were promptly transferred to other coaches.

The Rani Kamalapati-Hazrat Nizamuddin Vande Bharat train was promptly halted between the Kurwai and Kaithora stations in the Vidisha district after a fire was discovered in the battery box of C-12 coach at approximately 6:45 a.m., according to a PTI official.
