Samantha Ruth Prabhu stated that despite having experienced a failed relationship, she is not resentful. She stated that she remains “extremely loving” and has much affection to give. Samantha and Naga Chaitanya’s separation was disclosed in 2021. The actor is currently advertising her film Shaakuntalam and has stated that she identifies with her character, who “overcame the worst adversities with such grace and dignity.”
Samantha will now portray the title character in Shaakuntalam, which will hit theaters on April 14. The film stars Dev Mohan as Dushyanta, Mohan Babu as Durvasa Maharishi and Sachin Khedekar as Kanva Maharishi.
Since the film is about love, Samantha was asked the same question in a fresh interview. The actor, who also suffers from Myositis, told India Today that the affection of her friends has sustained her for the past eight months. “I am brimming with love to bestow. I am still very caring. “One failed relationship does not make me bitter and cynical,” she said.

Samantha also discussed how she had to connect with her Shaakuntalam character beyond just appearing beautiful and graceful. The actor stated, in reference to her character, “She appeals to the modern woman in me.” She is fiercely independent, has convictions, and opposes societal norms. Nevertheless, she is unwaveringly truthful and loving in her devotion, even during the most difficult portions of her voyage. She performs the action with such grace and dignity. Those were the portions with which I connected. This is what makes characters epic. You experience adversity, but it is the decisions you make that define you as a hero or heroine. I believe this is where I met Shakuntala. She endured the worst adversities but did so with such poise and dignity.”
In October 2021, Samantha announced her separation from Naga Chaitanya. On social media, she had written, “To all our well-wishers. After much deliberation and consideration, Chay and I have decided to separate as husband and wife in order to pursue our individual goals. We are fortunate to have a friendship of over a decade that formed the foundation of our relationship and, as far as we are concerned, will always retain a unique connection between us.
