Ali Ahmad, the son of former gangster and current politician Atiq Ahmad, was granted bail on Monday by the Allahabad high court in connection with an alleged attempt to murder case that was filed at the Puramufti police station in Prayagraj district the previous year. The case was initially investigated by the police in the previous year. The petition was submitted to the Allahabad high court for consideration.

Ali Ahmad is being detained at this time at the main jail in Prayagraj, which is known as Naini. The aforementioned ruling was handed down by Judge Dinesh Kumar Singh after he listened to the arguments presented by attorneys for both the applicant and the state government.

On July 31, 2022, one Zeeshan filed a first information report (FIR) against Ali Ahmad, alleging that Ali incited his colleagues to murder him in violation of the Indian Penal Code sections 307 (attempt to murder), 120B (conspiracy), and other applicable parts of the code. Senior counsel Satish Trivedi, who was there to argue on behalf of the applicant, stated that there was an allegation of eight persons firing on the informant, but the informant did not incur any gunshot injuries, which was something that Satish Trivedi argued was “next to impossible.” According to what he said, this is evidence that the whole case was made up.
