The National Seismological Center recorded twin earthquake in Western Nepal on Thursday night, but no casualties were reported until Friday morning.
Overnight, the Seismological Center in Surkhet District in the Western region of Nepal recorded two earthquakes of magnitudes 4.8 and 5.9 with an epicenter in Dahakot, Bajura.
“An earthquake measuring 4.9 magnitude occurred at 11:58 PM (local time), and another measuring 5.9 magnitude was recorded at 1:30 AM ,” Rajesh Sharma, an official at the Seismological Center in Surkhet District of Nepal, told media over the phone.
According to the District Police Office Bajura, residents had to flee their homes when the earthquake shook the ground. In addition to the neighboring districts of Bajura in Western Nepal, the trembling of the earth was also felt in the neighboring districts.
District Police Office Bajura verified, “We are assessing the earthquake’s impact.”
In recent months, earthquakes have been recorded in the Western region of Nepal, which had been stable for a long time. Earlier, the earthquake in the region had killed six individuals.

Bajura, a treacherous and mountainous geographical district of Nepal, is approximately 850 kilometers from the capital Kathmandu.
