On Monday, three tremors exceeding a magnitude of four struck western Nepal’s Jajarkot. At least sixteen people were injured as a result. This occurred days after the nation experienced its deadliest earthquake in eight years, which claimed 153 lives and left 266 others injured, according to security agencies on Tuesday.

As a result of Monday’s aftershocks, the cumulative number of casualties resulting from a sequence of seismic events in Nepal has surpassed 266.

“On Monday afternoon, three aftershocks of magnitude four or greater struck Jajarkot in western Nepal, injuring sixteen individuals. “Six others were injured in Jajarkot, while ten were injured in Rukum West,” security agency representatives reported.

A tremor of magnitude 6.4 struck Nepal shortly before midnight on the previous Friday. The nation has since experienced a number of aftershocks.

According to officials, the quake that struck the Jajarkot and Rukum West districts in western Nepal also damaged approximately 8,000 dwellings, both public and private.

Saurya Kiran Sharma, the press coordinator for Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda,” reported that an all-party meeting has been scheduled for Tuesday to debate the latest developments and the aftermath of the Jajarkot earthquake.

The summit will focus primarily on issues pertaining to the rebuilding and relief efforts that will be undertaken in the aftermath of the earthquake.

President Ramchandra Paudel will depart Kathmandu on Tuesday afternoon for an inspection tour of Jajarkot and Rukum Paschim, two districts severely affected by the earthquake.

As a consequence of the Jajarkot earthquake, President Paudel canceled his ten-day trip to Europe, which was to commence on Wednesday.
