Assam Cong issues show cause notice to Angkita Dutta on harassment allegations on IYC President

Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) has issued a show cause notice to “former” Assam Pradesh Youth Congress President Dr. Angkita Dutta

Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) has issued a show cause notice to “former” Assam Pradesh Youth Congress President Dr. Angkita Dutta, who accused Indian Youth Congress President Srinivas BV of “harassing” and “discriminating” against her.

APCC President Bhupen Kumar Borah issued a show-cause notice to Angkita Dutta on Thursday and demanded an explanation within a brief period of time. The demand for an explanation arrives hours after Angkita Dutta lodged a complaint against Srinivas BV at the Guwahati police station in Dispur.

However, authorities have yet to file a report. The Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) has given Angkita Dutta two days to respond to a show-cause notice it issued to her on Thursday, according to a source with direct knowledge of the matter.

According to the APCC source, Angkita Dutta was issued a show-cause notice in December of last year.

Angkita Dutta tweeted on Tuesday, “@IYCPresident @srinivasiyc has repeatedly harassed me and discriminated against me on the premise of my gender. My values and education no longer permit me to do so. The leadership has been oblivious despite repeated attempts to reach @RahulGandhi, @kcvenugopalmp, and @priyankagandhi.

“I am a fourth-generation representative. I have twice competed in internal organization competitions, served on booth committees, and been assaulted by police. My education progressed from Pol Sc to LLB at Delhi University to a PhD at Guwahati University. We maintain silence for the sake of the gathering. “However, Srinivas’s harassment continues,” she wrote in a tweet.

She added that despite being subjected to “discrimination” for six months, no investigation has been launched and she has been told to “keep mum.”
