Jal Jeevan Mission: Uttar Pradesh provides piped water connections to more than 81 L rural households.

(ANI): Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), India, February 21st, 2019: More than 5 billion persons in Uttar Pradesh are now receiving pure drinking water from their home faucets. The government led by Yogi has also strengthened its position among states by providing potable water connections to over 81 million rural families, according to the most recent official data available.

According to the information provided, Uttar Pradesh is ahead of several other states, including Jharkhand and West Bengal, when it comes to supplying tap water connections as part of the Har Ghar Jal Yojana of the Jal Jeevan Mission. It currently holds the fourth spot on the national list.

It is important to point out that in spite of the pandemic, the Yogi Government has managed to install connections for piped water in a startlingly short amount of time in rural regions.

According to the available statistics, a total of 81,87,394 rural households in the state of UP have been provided with tap water connections to this point, and more than 4,91,24,364 villagers are currently benefiting from the programme. 31.1 percent of rural households in UP now have access to piped drinking water thanks to the effective implementation of an ambitious programme by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government by the Yogi Government. This compares to 30.95 percent of rural households in Jharkhand and 30.56 percent of rural households in West Bengal. Every day, the government of UP installs more than 30,000 new water taps in rural regions, which compares to only 2,500 in the state of Jharkhand and 7,000 in the state of West Bengal.

According to the statistics from February 21, Bihar is the state that provides the most tap water connections to rural households with 1,59,00,575, while Maharashtra is in second place with 1,07,34,14 and Gujarat is in third place with 91,18,449 tap water connections to rural households.treg
