BJP To Win Tripura, Nagaland, Third In Meghalaya, Show Poll Of Exit Polls

Exit polls predicted the BJP-NDPP combine would win at least seven seats in Meghalaya and power in Nagaland. Its Tripura results may not match 2018.

Exit polls in Guwahati have predicted that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will significantly increase its influence in the northeast by winning the most recent round of assembly elections in Meghalaya, Tripura, and Nagaland. Additionally, the BJP will gain a larger proportion of seats in Meghalaya. An aggregate of exit polls indicated that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will form an alliance government in Nagaland with its ally the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP), and will win at least seven seats in Meghalaya, which is an increase from their previous total of two seats.
In spite of this, it is possible that its performance in Tripura will not be as impressive as it was in 2018, when it single-handedly passed the majority mark.

Exit polls also suggest that the Congress could be on the verge of suffering its most significant defeat in the northeast, gaining only one seat in Nagaland and six in Meghalaya, despite having been the single-largest party in both of those states the last time around.

However, exit surveys frequently provide inaccurate results. Thursday is the day that will be dedicated to the process of tallying the ballots cast in all three states.

An aggregate of four exit surveys suggests that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) may win 32 seats in the 60-seat Tripura assembly, which is just above the majority threshold of 31 seats. The Left, which has held power in the state for more than three decades, is only likely to win 15 seats, and the Congress, which has been an unexpected ally for this election, is not likely to contribute anything to the final total.

Tipra Motha is a new party that was founded by the former monarch Pradyot Kishore Debbarma with the central demand of Greater Tipraland. It is expected to win 12 seats in the upcoming election.
