Kayleigh Scott, a transgender flight attendant who rose to prominence after appearing in a United Airlines commercial, has passed away after posting an impassioned note on her social media accounts. According to The Independent, the 25-year-old was discovered deceased in her Colorado residence on Monday. She wrote a heartfelt letter to her friends and family on Instagram and Facebook, asking them to remember the “good memories we have shared.”
Scott wrote, “As I take my last breaths and leave this living planet, I would like to apologize to everyone I let down.” “I am so regretful that I am not better. I apologize to those I love for not being stronger. To those who gave me their all, I apologize that my efforts were not reciprocated. Please comprehend that my departure has nothing to do with you, but rather my inability to change for the better,” the flight attendant added.

In her post, Scott also apologized to some of her loved ones, saying, “I will see you all on the other side.”
After posting the letter, Scott’s mother, Andrea Sylvestro, verified her daughter’s passing. Ms. Sylvestro wrote in a Facebook post, “Kayleigh Scott…I am so unbelievably proud to have you as my daughter, proud and amazed by everything you have done in your life, your smile was absolutely beautiful, your laughter was unbelievably contagious, and your heart was larger than any of us could have comprehended.”
According to The Independent, the Denver Police Department is currently investigating the death of Scott. The police stated that the Denver Medical Examiner’s office will determine the official cause of death.

Separately, United Airlines expressed sadness over Scott’s passing. “We extend our deepest condolences to Kayleigh Scott’s family, friends, and coworkers following her tragic passing,” the company stated.
In 2020, Kayleigh Scott made headlines when United Airlines featured her in its diversity campaign. In the video for Trans Day of Visibility, she discussed the significance of coming out and living an authentic life. “I was so ashamed of being transgender,” she said, adding, “All I wanted was to blend in.”
