Akshay Kumar’s Oh My God 2 sent to censor board review committee to avoid controversy

In order to avoid a backlash similar to that of Adipurush, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) is examining the dialogue and scenes in Oh My God 2 (OMG 2).

In order to avoid a backlash similar to that of Adipurush, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) is examining the dialogue and scenes in Oh My God 2 (OMG 2). The forthcoming film is a sequel to the 2012 film OMG – Oh My God starring Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal. According to a new report, the board’s rewriting committee aims to ensure that the dialogue and sequences in OMG 2 “do not cause any problems.”

There is currently no clarity regarding which sequences or dialogues in Oh My God 2 have caused the CBFC concern. The CBFC is rumored to make a decision on the film, which is scheduled for release in theaters on August 11, once the film reaches the revision committee.

Censorship panel reviewing Oh My God 2 dialogues
According to sources cited in a recent report by India Today, “CBFC does not want to repeat the backlash that Adipurush received over its dialogues,” and it will make a decision on Oh My God 2 starring Akshay Kumar after the board’s revising committee “reviews the film’s dialogues and scenes.”

According to India Today’s sources, the CBFC has taken “preemptive measures” to forestall any backlash over the dialogue and scenes in Oh My God 2. CBFC will transmit for review and revision any film dealing with God or religion, according to the source.

Adipurush wrath
Adipurush by Om Raut has been embroiled in controversy since its release last month. Prabhas portrays Raghava, Kriti Janaki, Sunny Singh Laxman, and Saif Ali Khan Lankesh in the film.

The film was criticized for its dialogue, costuming, and animation-like visuals. Since its release, there have also been sporadic protests against Adipurush, with some criticizing the portrayal of its characters and others claiming it offended those who had grown up viewing the Doordarshan program Ramayan.

The filmmakers released a revised version of the film after modifying some of the dialogue. The dialogue writer for Adipurush, Manoj Muntashir, also issued a ‘unconditional’ apology in response to the backlash. In his letter of apology, he acknowledged that Adipurush had hurt people’s feelings.
