Premier League Leaders Arsenal held on, but Tottenham Hotspurs got beaten up.
Arsenal and Brentford played to a 1-1 tie in the Premier League.
Arsenal made another mistake when they were held to a 1-1 draw by Brentford, and Tottenham’s chances of making the top four were hurt by a 4-1 loss at Leicester on Saturday. With a win at the Emirates Stadium, Mikel Arteta’s team could have moved eight points ahead of second-place Manchester City. But Arsenal couldn’t keep the lead that Leandro Trossard gave them with his first goal for the club in his fifth game since he moved from Brighton in January.
Ivan Toney scored the equaliser for Brentford, which means that Arsenal haven’t won in their last three games in all competitions. They lost at Manchester City in the FA Cup and at Everton in the league.
The Gunners are still in charge of their own fate as they try to win the Premier League for the first time since 2004. However, if champions City beat Aston Villa on Sunday, they could move to within three points of the Gunners.
On Wednesday, Arsenal plays at home against City in a game that will be very important in the title race.
In the 66th minute, Belgium forward Trossard came off the bench to score the game-winning goal for Arsenal.
Bukayo Saka sent a cross to the far post, where Trossard was waiting to finish it off. It was his first goal for Arsenal or Brighton since October.
But eight minutes later, Brentford tied the game when Toney headed the ball into an empty net after the Arsenal defence missed a high ball.
Antonio Conte was back in charge of Tottenham after having gallbladder surgery and missing last week’s 1-0 win over Manchester City, but his fifth-placed team was humiliated at the King Power Stadium.
In the 14th minute, Rodrigo Bentancur put Tottenham ahead by finishing close to the goal after Ben Davies flicked the ball to him. This goal was not ruled offside by the VAR.
But Nampalys Mendy tied it up in the 23rd minute with a rocket from the edge of the area for his first goal for the club.
Two minutes later, Kelechi Iheanacho sent a pass to James Maddison, who took it well and finished low.
Iheanacho scored Leicester’s third goal with a curling shot into the bottom corner in the final seconds of the first half, and Harvey Barnes finished off the rout in the 81st minute.
Chelsea was upset
Graham Potter said Chelsea is still “a work in progress” after they drew 1-1 with West Ham and went three games without a win in the Premier League. Joao Felix scored the Blues’ first goal, but it was cancelled out by Emerson.
Potter’s team, which cost a lot of money to put together, failed again, putting more pressure on the Blues manager.
Felix, a forward from Portugal, put Chelsea ahead in his second game for the club. However, Emerson, an Italy defender who used to play for Chelsea, scored an equaliser before halftime to get his old team back.
Ninth-placed Chelsea has only won one of its last eight games across all competitions, and it is nine points behind the top four teams in the Premier League.
“The second half was more of a reflection of where we are with integrating new players and getting players up to speed in the Premier League,” Potter said.
“They are a good group, and we are excited about the team and what it could become, but there is still a lot of work to do.”
A 2-1 win over the team at the bottom of the table helped Wolves in their fight to stay in the league.
Carlos Alcaraz scored Southampton’s first goal in the middle of the first half.
Mario Lemina, a midfielder for Wolves who used to play for Southampton, got two yellow cards in quick succession and was sent off.

But Jan Bednarek’s own goal in the 72nd minute changed the game, and Wolves’ 15th-placed Joao Gomes scored the winner in the last minute.
James Tomkins scored in the 69th minute to tie the game at 1-1 between Crystal Palace and Brighton. Solly March had given Albion the lead six minutes earlier at Selhurst Park.
At Craven Cottage, goals from Willian and Manor Solomon helped Fulham beat Nottingham Forest 2-0.
