During the inauguration of an educational institution in the nation’s capital on Wednesday, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal experienced an emotional collapse as he recalled jailed AAP leader and former city education minister Manish Sisodia. The CBI detained former deputy chief minister Sisodia on February 26 in connection with its investigation into the Delhi excise policy. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) subsequently arrested him on March 9 and he is presently in judicial custody.
Kejriwal stated at the event, “These individuals want to destroy the education system in Delhi. It was Manish ji’s desire to provide every child with a quality education.”
The leader of the AAP lashed out at the BJP-led Centre, stating, “By leveling false allegations and filing bogus cases, these people have kept a nice man in prison for months. Why has he been placed behind bars? Several bandits are freely traversing this country. These individuals do not detain them. Manish Sisodia was imprisoned for building schools for children and supplying them with a quality education. They are dissatisfied with AAP’s publicity due to the caliber of its education. Wherever I travel in the globe, people praise the schools in Delhi.”
Monday, the Delhi High Court denied interim parole for Sisodia in a money laundering case related to the alleged excise policy scam, citing “extremely serious” allegations and the possibility of “influencing the witnesses.”

Sisodia had requested parole in order to care for his ailing wife. Under certain conditions, he was permitted to visit her for one day at their residence or hospital between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m., including a ban on media interaction.
