As PM Modi addressed Manipur on Thursday in response to the INDIA alliance’s no-confidence motion, he stated that he would discuss two past incidents, both of which were caused by the Congress. “The initial incident occurred on March 5, 1966. The Air Force of the Congress attacked the people of Mizoram. The Congress should clarify whether or not it was foreign air. Were the people of Mizoram not my country’s citizens? Wasn’t the nation responsible for their security?” PM Modi declared.
“To this day, Mizoram has not forgotten that day because no endeavour has been made to heal that wound. Who was in charge then? Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. The Congress covered this up,” Prime Minister Modi said, adding that the Congress had destroyed the trust of the northeast. The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, stated, “This wound always resurfaces in one form or another.”
“In 1962, when China attacked India, when people of the country were expecting the government to save them, Nehru said in his radio speech ‘my heart goes out to the people of Assam’. This was the circumstance. This radio broadcast reminds people of how Nehru ji abandoned them to their fate, Prime Minister Modi said.

“The situation in Manipur is presented as if the difficulties just arose recently. Congress bears responsibility for this situation. “The people of the northeast are not to blame,” said Prime Minister Modi.
