Go First Fined Rs 10 Lakh for Jan 9 Flight Without 55 Passengers

DGCA said the airline failed to arrange ground handling, load and trim sheet preparation, flight dispatch, and passenger/cargo handling.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) fined Go First airline Rs 10 lakh on Friday for its Bengaluru-Delhi flight departing without 55 passengers on January 9. All of these passengers were seated on the bus at the departure airport, waiting to board the flight.
The day following the incident involving Go First flight G8 116, the DGCA issued a show cause notice to the airline, requesting an explanation as to why regulatory violations should not result in enforcement action.
According to the aviation authority, Go First responded to the notification on January 25, and after reviewing the response, a punishment of Rs. 10,000,000 was levied for the infringement of civil aviation rules (CAR).

“Go First shows in its response that there was inappropriate communication and coordination between the terminal coordinator (TC), commercial workers, and crew regarding passenger boarding,” the DGCA said.
