Crown Prince Frederik Andre Henrik Christian of Denmark and Crown Princess Mary Elizabeth will visit Tamil Nadu with Danish companies next week to discuss the renewable energy sector, according to Envoy Freddy Svane.

Svane stated, in an exclusive interview with ANI, “Tamil Nadu is, as I’ve stated previously, a prime location for Danish or private investments. And we have many, many Danish companies there, particularly in the energy sector and a significant portion of the wind industry’s global supply chain. Meaning that the wind turbines, plates, and cables, as well as everything else required, have been concentrated and consolidated in Tamil Nadu.”
“With a focus on the green transition, energy transition, and renewables, it makes sense for us to visit Tamil Nadu with our royals, ministers, and companies,” he continued.
Crown Prince Frederik Anders Henrik Christian of Denmark and Crown Princess Mary Elizabeth will visit India between February 26 and March 2, 2023.
This will be the first visit by a member of the Danish Royal family in twenty years. His Royal Highness, the Crown Prince, visited India for the last time in 2003. In 1963, as Crown Princess, Her Excellency Queen Margrethe II visited India. They are visiting India at the invitation of Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, according to a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In response to a query about the purpose of the visit to Tamil Nadu, the Danish envoy stated, “Of course, we will discuss with our Indian partners at all levels how we can do more, how we can be a strategic partner in the green growth that India is opting for leading up to the 2047 anniversary.”
In addition to Tamil Nadu, the Crown Prince will meet with the Vice President and speak at the CII-organized inaugural session of India-Denmark: Partners for Green & Sustainable Progress. In addition, he will meet with President Droupadi Murubu.
As vibrant and open democracies, India and Denmark share a commitment to a rules-based international order and converge on significant multilateral issues.
