After successfully landing on the moon’s south pole, the Chandrayaan 3 Vikram lander transmitted the first photograph it captured.
Following the touchdown, this is the image that was taken by the touchdown Imager Camera. It depicts a section of the landing site that Chandrayaan-3 used. A leg and the shadow that goes with it can also be seen here. ISRO published a post on X, which was formerly known as Twitter, stating that Chandrayaan-3 selected an area of the moon’s surface that is rather flat.
