Former Pakistani PM Imran Khan urges international community to recognize the Taliban

Former Pakistani PM Imran Khan told the press that the Taliban will not respect human rights, including women’s education, until they are globally recognized.

Press reported that former Pakistani PM Imran Khan stated that the Taliban will not respect human rights, including the right of women to education, until they are recognized internationally.

Imran Khan stated that the Taliban should be integrated into the international community before discussing human rights and the education of females, according to a media cited by the press.

“What influence will you have over the Taliban if you isolate them?” If you legitimate them and grant them a state, then you can discuss human rights. Imran Khan was quoted by the Press as saying in an interview: “Right now, you push them on isolation; their money is frozen, so why would they listen?”

Imran Khan, chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), stated, “My advice is to get them involved and give them a stake in the international community so that when you tell them to educate girls, they will listen; currently, they are not.”

Afghanistan is experiencing a human rights crisis at the time of Imran Khan’s remarks. Afghan women have demanded that the Taliban reopen secondary schools for Afghan females. Imran Khan has previously requested that the international community recognize the Taliban.

Earlier in 2022, Imran Khan, who was then Pakistan’s PM imran khan , stated that there is “no alternative to the Taliban in Afghanistan” and that the “world’s only option to move forward is to engage with the Taliban.”

Imran Khan, speaking about Pakistan’s diplomatic ties with the Taliban in Afghanistan in an exclusive interview with Fareed Zakaria for the media, stated that the Taliban must be recognized by the international community for the well-being and future of approximately 40 million Afghans.

“Afghanistan is on the verge of experiencing the worst humanitarian crisis,” stated the prime minister, Imran Khan. “Under the given conditions, is there any alternative to the Taliban in Afghanistan? “No, there isn’t,” said Imran Khan.

“Forty million Afghans are in dire straits as a result of the current situation in the country,” Khan stated. He added that Americans should realize that disliking the Taliban is one thing, but thinking about the people of Afghanistan, who are confronting “extreme difficulties,” is another.

Imran Khan referred to cooperation with the Taliban as the “only alternative” for the welfare of Afghans, stating that excluding the Taliban would only result in anarchy in the country. He urged the international community to liberate Afghanistan’s frozen assets and provide humanitarian aid to prevent the country’s “economic collapse.”
