In October, the festival will take place at the Empire Polo Grounds, Coachella’s main venue, in Indio, California. Friday, October 6 (Friday) will feature Guns N’ Roses and Iron Maiden, Saturday, October 7 (Saturday) will feature AC/DC and Ozzy Osbourne, and Sunday, October 8 will feature Metallica and Tool. (Sunday).

The headliners of the Power Trip festival will be AC/DC, Ozzy Osbourne, Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, Tool, and Iron Maiden. The performers are all veterans of multiple decades, with the majority still actively performing.

Ozzy Osbourne, a British singer-songwriter, recently announced his retirement from touring, years after an accident caused him to sustain spinal injuries. Even though he is not in the best of health, he finds the strength to perform for his admirers when the occasion calls for it, and a one-time concert may present less of a challenge than a tour.

US-based media outlet Variety reports that the musicians have also collaborated on numerous occasions. In fact, during their difficult period, Guns N’ Roses were barred from an opening slot on an early 1988 Iron Maiden tour due to what one might delicately term their unpleasant tendencies; however, this did not hinder the band’s career.

Metallica and Guns N’ Roses co-headlined stadium tours in 1992, and Guns N’ Roses lead vocalist Axl Rose stood in for AC/DC frontman Brian Johnson during North American performances in 2016.

The festival is more like a hard rock variant of Goldenvoice’s 2016 Desert Trip festival, which featured a classic-rock lineup of Paul McCartney, the Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, the Who, and Pink Floyd’s Roger Waters.
