On Sunday, the inaugural OTTplay Changemaker Awards 2023 were convened in Mumbai. The event was attended by Rajkummar Rao, Prajakta Koli, Gulshan Grover, Uorfi Javed, Preeti Jhangiani, Bhuvan Arora, Rishab Shetty, Priyamani, Yashraj Mukhate, Swastika Mukherjee, Kunal Vijaykar, and host Rithvik Dhanjani. The inaugural edition will commemorate and honor the entertainment industry’s pioneers, groundbreakers, and trendsetters whose innovative and dynamic work is sweeping the nation.
Approximately forty actors, directors, content creators, and others will receive awards in categories such as Filmmaker In The Spotlight, Pathbreaking Performer, Entertainer Of The Decade, Best VFX, Rising Star of The Year, and many others.
Basil Joseph, a filmmaker from Minnal Murali, was named Inspiring Filmmaker of the Year. RRR won the award for Best Visual Effects, while Rajkummar Rao was named Pathbreaking Performer of the Year (Male) for Badhaai Do and Monica, O My Darling. The actor stated, “I will be doing work in which I believe.” Gulshan Grover handed out the award.

The evening will bring together regional cinema trendsetters, business executives, content creators, and technology enablers.
Regarding the award, Avinash Mudaliar, co-founder and CEO of OTTplay, stated, “The award will honor the trendsetters, the disruptors, the entertainers, the round pegs in the square holes, who believe in investigating various mediums to entertain the viewers. As this is the inaugural OTTplay Changemakers Awards, we will recognize and honor the achievements of innovators and influencers. With this inaugural OTTPlay Changemakers Awards, we hope to leave a legacy of entertainment excellence for future generations.”
