The popular song “Naatu Naatu,” which is nominated for “Best Original Song” at the 95th Academy Awards, will be performed by Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava, making their Oscar debut. Chandrabose wrote the song’s lyrics, while M.M. Keeravaani composed the song’s music.

“Naatu Naatu” won the Golden Globe Award for “Best Original Song” in January. Five days later, at the 28th Critics’ Choice Awards, ‘RRR’ won two additional oscar awards. One is for the best song, and the other is for the best film in a foreign language. Since then, ‘RRR’ and ‘Naatu Naatu’ have dominated the worldwide charts. The song appeals to the masses due to its universal appeal, which is achieved through a happy vibe and a popular dance step. In addition, the lyrics reflect the country’s culture, with each line evoking feelings about the country’s cuisine and flora and fauna.
Outside of the film, “Naatu Naatu” has amassed more than 122 million views on YouTube and inspired a TikTok challenge in which users attempt to recreate the acrobatic dance-off. Since it was posted on Twitter on Sunday, Chang Jae-53-second bok’s rendition has received more than 4.8 million views.
“Naatu Naatu” was filmed during the final phase of filming. A few months prior to the beginning of the Russian military invasion of Ukraine, filming took place at the Mariinskyi Palace (Ukraine Presidential Palace) in Kyiv.
Also released in Hindi as ‘Naacho Naacho,’ Tamil as ‘Naattu Koothu,’ Kannada as ‘Halli Naatu,’ and Malayalam as ‘Karinthol’ Rahul Sipligunj and Vishal Mishra performed its Hindi rendition.
The hook step performed by Jr NTR and Ram Charan went viral on social media, and the duo frequently recreated the viral segment of the dance during the film’s promotion.
Variety reported that the cross-cultural hit is oscar nominated in the original song category alongside “This Is A Life” from “Everything, Everywhere, All at Once,” “Applause” from “Tell It Like It Is” and “Lift Me Up” from “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” all of which will be performed at the 95th annual ceremony.
