Pakistani politician hails Chandrayaan-3 after criticising 2.

Fawad Chaudhry’s ‘dramatic’ about-face continues with a new post in which he sings the praises of Chandrayaan-3.

Hours before Chandrayaan-3 is scheduled to soft-land on the Moon, Pakistani politician Fawad Chaudhry again congratulated India on Wednesday for this ‘excellent achievement.’ This comes one day after Chaudhry urged his nation’s media to air live coverage of what he called a “historic moment for humanity.”

“All eyes on #Chandrayaan3 Moon landing 5:40 PM, great day for Indian Science Community and Space Scientists, Congratulations to the people of India on this great achievement,” he wrote on X (formerly Twitter) in a recent post.

The ex-PTI leader’s most recent post on Chandrayaan-3 continues a dramatic ‘U-turn’ that began on Tuesday.

“Pak media should broadcast tomorrow’s Chandrayaan moon landing live at 6:15 p.m…Momentous occasion for humanity, particularly for the people, scientists, and space community of India…. He wrote yesterday, “Many Congratulations”

It must be noted that a portion of Pakistanis, including Chaudhry, celebrated the September 2019 accident of Chandrayaan-2, the mission’s predecessor, on social media. At the time, he served as his country’s minister of science and technology under then-prime minister Imran Khan.

Indeed, Pakistanis who celebrated the accident of Chandrayaan-2 were severely criticised by their fellow countrymen.

Chandrayaan-3

The mission, which was launched on July 14, is the third and current mission of Chandrayaan, the Moon exploration initiative of the Indian Space Rsearch Organisation (ISRO). Wednesday at 5:45pm IST (5:15pm PST), the lander module of Chandrayaan-3 will begin its final descent towards its destination, where it is scheduled to land at 6:04pm IST (5:34pm PST).

Only the United States, Russia, and China have accomplished a gentle landing on the Earth’s only natural satellite to date.
