Bengaluru: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday flagged off the South’s First Vande Bharat Express, the train will run between Two citites for Chennai and Karnataka.
The Chennai-Mysuru Vande Bharat Express will run via Bengaluru, Already, there are many trains between Bengaluru and Chennai: Shatabdi Express, Brindavan Express, Mass Double-Decker, Guwahati Express, Lalbagh Express, Chennai Express, Kaveri Express, and Chennai Mail, but ‘Vande Bharat’ is unique given its speed and facilities, as per the railway officials.
The train will run on all days except Wednesdays. “It is going to be the first-ever semi-high-speed train in the south and play a significant role in connecting the two states. Currently, Shatabdi is the fastest train between the two places. The semi-high-speed train will reduce the travel time and enhance comfort for passengers,” said an official.
“It will enhance connectivity between the industrial hub of Chennai and the Tech and Startup hub of Bengaluru and the famous tourist city of Mysuru,” the PMO said.
PM Modi also flagged Bharat Gaurav Kashi Darshan Train at the KSR railway station.

The first Vande Bharat Express New Delhi-Kanpur-Allahabad-Varanasi train was flagged off in February 2019. Last month, the fourth Vande Bharat train was launched between Delhi and Himachal Pradesh’s Una. The third such train was flagged on September 30 from Gandhinagar to Mumbai.
