India is once again providing the venue for the IOC session, following an approximately four-decade hiatus. The 86th session of the IOC was conducted in New Delhi in 1983. The 141st International Olympic Committee (IOC) Session, which is currently taking place in India, exemplifies the country’s commitment to promoting international collaboration, honoring athletic prowess, and advancing the Olympic principles of friendship, respect, and excellence, according to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).

It allows for interaction and the exchange of knowledge among the diverse sports-related stakeholders, the statement continued. Thomas Bach, president of the International Olympic Committee, and other members of the IOC, in addition to prominent Indian athletes and representatives from various sports federations, including the Indian Olympic Association, are expected to attend the session, according to the statement.
