Rajnath Singh to hold bilateral talks with US, German counterparts in Delhi

The US Secretary of Defense, Lloyd Austin, and the German Federal Minister of Defense, Boris Pistorius, are visiting New Delhi for bilateral discussions with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh

The US Secretary of Defense, Lloyd Austin, and the German Federal Minister of Defense, Boris Pistorius, are visiting New Delhi for bilateral talks with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, according to an official statement published on Saturday (3 June).

The meeting between the Defence Minister and the US Secretary of Defense will occur on 5 June, while discussions with the German Federal Minister of Defence will occur on 6 June.

The US Secretary of Defense, Lloyd Austin, will travel from Singapore to New Delhi on June 4 for a two-day visit.

This will be Secretary Austin’s second trip to India; his first was in March of 2021.

Boris Pistorius, the German federal minister of defense, will arrive in New Delhi on June 5 for a four-day visit to India.

During an event organized by Innovations for Defence Excellence (iDEX) in New Delhi, Pistorius is anticipated to meet with several defense start-ups in addition to meeting with Rajnath Singh.

On June 7, he will travel to Mumbai, where he will most likely visit the Western Naval Command Headquarters and Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited.

During the two meetings in Delhi, a number of bilateral defense cooperation issues, with an emphasis on industrial cooperation, are expected to be discussed, according to the Ministry.
