PM Rishi Sunak of the UK arrives in Israel on Thursday in order to discuss the conflict between Israel and Hamas. A day prior to his visit, US President Joe Biden conferred with the highest-ranking Israeli officials in Tel Aviv.
Sunak remarked, “I am in Israel, a nation in mourning,” on X, which was formerly Twitter. “Your sorrow is mine, and I stand with you in opposition to the evil that is terrorism.” Present, perpetually.”
The prime minister will extend his condolences for the loss of life in Israel and Palestine and warn against further escalation, according to Sunak’s office in advance of his visit.
Additionally, he will advocate for the expeditious establishment of a pathway to permit humanitarian assistance to enter Gaza from Egypt, while ensuring the freedom of British nationals stationed in the region.
Sunak had previously stated that the hospital assault in Gaza was a “critical juncture for regional and international leaders to unite in order to prevent a perilous escalation of the conflict.”
Tuesday night witnessed an attack on al-Ahli Arab Hospital, also known as the Baptist Hospital, in Gaza, which resulted in the deaths of at least 500 individuals. Officials in Palestine attributed the detonation to one of the numerous Israeli bombings that have been directed at Gaza since the country declared war on Hamas.

Israel, for its part, denied any involvement in the attack and asserted that the detonation was the result of a misdirected missile launched by Hamas militants in the direction of their nation. Additionally, the United States has supported Israel’s claim that Tel Aviv was not responsible for the strike, citing intelligence to support its position.
