Women’s Boxing World Championship 2023: Nitu Ghanghas of India defeated Lutsaikhan Altantsetseg of Mongolia in the finals to claim the 48kg gold medal at the IBA Women’s Boxing World Championship 2023. She won by unanimous decision, 5-0. It was India’s first gold medal in the ongoing tournament.
Nitu, who was competing in her first World Championships final, began the match with an aggressive stance, while her opponent remained composed. The Mongolian boxer landed a few blows, but the Indian boxer dominated the first round.

Lutsaikhan landed a strike after missing a number of others, but Nitu did not abandon her aggressive stance. After the first two rounds, Nitu held the advantage.Nitu and Lutseikhan were each issued a yellow card. In the final 30 seconds of the match, Nitu landed two strikes, effectively ending the contest.
Ghanghas began her tournament campaign by defeating Kang Doyeon of Korea in the first round. The 22-year-old then dispatched Qosimova Sumaiya of Tajikistan in the second round.The youth defeated Wada Madoka with relative ease in the quarterfinals. Her greatest victory occurred in the semifinals, when she dispatched Alua Belkibekova of Kazakhstan 5-2.

Belkibekova is a two-time Asian Champion and gave Ghanghas a great deal of difficulty, but the Indian wrestler prevailed in the decisive match.In the final of the 81kg division, Saweety Boora will face Lina Wang of China later in the day. On Sunday, March 26, Nikhat Zareen and Lovlina Borgohain will also compete in their respective finals.
