The security forces foiled a significant infiltration attempt and killed two infiltrators along the Line of Control (LoC) in J&K’s Poonch region during the night between Sunday and Monday, according to security officials.
“Operation Bahadur Sector Poonch. During the night of 17 July 23 in the Poonch Sector, the #IndianArmy and @JammuKmrPolice successfully thwarted a major infiltration bid. Two infiltrators were neutralised. White Knight Corps of Nagrota tweeted on its Twitter account that search operations are in progress.
On 10 July, the Indian Army thwarted a significant infiltration attempt and killed a terrorist along the Line of Control in the Nowshera sector of the adjoining Rajouri district during a two-night operation during which they also recovered weapons and ammunition.
The encounter site yielded an AK-47, three AK magazines containing 175 rounds, a 9mm pistol, two magazines containing 15 rounds, four hand grenades, communication apparatus, and a large quantity of food and clothing for sustenance.
Since the annual Amarnath pilgrimage began on July 1, Pakistani intrusion attempts along the Indo-Pak borders in Jammu and Kashmir have increased, according to army officials.
Intelligence agencies have warned security forces of a potential attempt by terror groups based in Pakistan to target the pilgrimage and disrupt it.

In Jammu and Kashmir’s Sonmargh district on Sunday, eight Central Reserve Armed Forces (CRPF) personnel on their way to the Amarnath pilgrimage were injured in an accident.
