On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be the principal guest at the 16th ‘Civil Services Day’ Valedictory Session and Award Ceremony.
The event will take place at 11 a.m. in the national capital’s Plenary Hall, Vigyan Bhavan.
At 11:40, the Prime Minister will deliver a speech. Thursday he will also interact with the civil servants.
According to a government statement, Union Minister of State (MoS) Dr. Jitendra Singh will deliver the event’s opening address at 11:10 a.m. It will be followed at 11:25 am by the presentation of awards by the Prime Minister.
Every year on April 21, ‘Civil Services Day’ is celebrated to honor the labor of all the officers employed by the various public service departments in the country.
According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), PM Modi has consistently praised the contribution of civil servants to nation-building and encouraged them to work even harder. The initiative will provide a suitable forum for the Prime Minister to motivate and inspire civil servants across the nation to continue serving the country with the same zeal.
PM Modi will also present the Prime Minister’s Awards for Excellence in Public Administration during the event. The purpose of these awards is to recognize the extraordinary and innovative work districts and organizations of the federal and state governments have performed for the benefit of ordinary citizens.

Awards will be given for exemplary work in four identified priority programmes: Promoting Swachh Jal via the Har Ghar Jal Yojana; Promoting Swasth Bharat via Health & Wellness Centres; Promoting quality education with an equitable and inclusive classroom environment via Samagra Shiksha; and Promoting Holistic Development via the Aspirational District Programme – overall progress with special emphasis on saturation approach.
