’26/11 plotters roaming free in your country’: Javed Akhtar at Lahore event

Javed Akhtar talked about defusing tension between the two countries, and told the gathering about “resentment in the hearts of Indians”.

Javed Akhtar Lahore event: Javed Akhtar  reminded Pakistan that 26/11 conspirators are still “roaming” in the country and have not been brought to justice.Recently, Akhtar was in Lahore for a literary festival. When he held up the mirror to Pakistan, he was communicating with the crowd.

Regarding tensions in India-Pakistan ties, Akhtar stated that the Indians have cause for anger.
“We held large concerts for Nusrat (Pakistani singer) and others, but your country has never held a concert for Lata Mangeshkar.” The audience applauded enthusiastically in response to Akhtar’s remark.

Taking the cue,Javed Akhtar Lahore event introduced the topic of September 11, 2001.”I’m from Mumbai. Everyone is aware of the attacks in Mumbai. They did not originate from Norway or Egypt. They continue to rampage throughout your land. Consequently, if Indians harbour this anger in their hearts, you should empathise with them.”

In 2008, ten militants from Pakistan perpetrated the 26/11 Mumbai massacre. The lone terrorist captured alive after a fair trial was executed by hanging after being killed in combat with Indian soldiers.

Pakistan has not taken any action against the 26/11 conspirators, including as Hafiz Saeed and Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi.Supposedly having the support of the Pakistani establishment, they have been in and out of jail for cosmetic purposes.In Pakistan, the 26/11 court case has also dragged on with little discernible progress.
