The FM of Pakistan has confirms that the Pakistan cricket team will visit to India to compete in the 2023 ICC World Cup. Pakistan had threatened to withdraw from the World Cup after India announced it would not travel to Pakistan for the 2023 Asia Cup. In a press release, the Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasised that sports and politics should not be combined.
“Pakistan has consistently maintained that athletics and politics should not be mixed. “It has therefore decided to send its Cricket Team to India to compete in the 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup,” the foreign ministry stated in a press release.
The press release added that the decision demonstrates Pakistan’s constructive and responsible approach vis-à-vis India’s unyielding stance and its belief that politics should not impede the fulfilment of international sports obligations.
“Pakistan believes that its international sports obligations should not be hindered by the condition of its bilateral relations with India. “Pakistan’s decision demonstrates its constructive and responsible approach in contrast to India’s intransigence, as India had refused to send its Cricket Team to Pakistan for the Asia Cup,” the release continued.
Concerned about Pakistan team’s security
Pakistan’s foreign ministry added that it has communicated its security concerns with the ICC and Indian authorities regarding its cricket team in India.
“However, Pakistan is extremely concerned about the safety of its cricket team. These concerns are being communicated to the International Cricket Council and the Indian government. “We anticipate that the Pakistan Cricket Team’s complete safety and security will be ensured during its visit to India,” the Pakistani foreign ministry said.

The high-stakes World Cup match between India and Pakistan is scheduled for 14 October at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
