Ram Charan was in Delhi for an event and spoke extensively about RRR, the Oscars, and his acting career, among other topics. In the meantime, Ram met with interior minister Amit Shah alongside actor Chiranjeevi’s father. The home minister congratulated them on the historic victory of RRR at the 2023 Oscars, where Naatu Naatu took the award for Best Original Song.
Friday at the Delhi airport, a sea of admirers and supporters greeted Ram Charan. RRR made history at the 95th Academy Awards by becoming the first Indian film to win an Oscar for Best Original Song. Naatu Naatu was performed live at the Oscars ceremony in 2023, and the performance received a standing ovation. Onstage, actress Deepika Padukone introduced the performance.

Ram tweeted on Friday, “Truly an honour to greet our honourable home minister Amit Shah ji… Thank you, sir, for appreciating @RRRMovie’s endeavours…” Earlier, the home minister had tweeted their photographs with the following caption: “Delighted to meet Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan, two Indian film legends. India’s culture and economy have been substantially influenced by the Telugu film industry. Have congratulated Ram Charan on his Oscar victory for the song Naatu Naatu and RRR’s phenomenal success.”
In a video report by the news agency ANI, Ram Charan is seen presenting Amit Shah with a bouquet of flowers while Chiranjeevi stands by his side. After attending the Oscars ceremony in Los Angeles with his wife Upasana, RRR team director SS Rajamouli, co-star Jr NTR, composer MM Keeravaani, and lyricist Chandrabose, the actor returned to Delhi. Ram Charan attended the Oscars wearing an all-black ensemble, accompanied by his wife Upasana Konidela, who looked spectacular in a cream designer saree.
Following his Oscar victory, Ram released a statement in which he described his emotions. “RRR is and will always be the most special film in our lives and in the annals of Indian cinema. I cannot praise everyone for bringing about the Oscar. It still feels like I’m living in a dream,” he wrote, thanking everyone for their unwavering love and support.

In recent months, Naatu Naatu has become a true global phenomenon. RRR is a fictional story set in the 1920s pre-independence era and based on the lives of two actual heroes and well-known revolutionaries. It was released in theatres in March of last year.
