India’s tour of South Africa to begin on December 10.Complete schedule

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has confirmed the December-January itinerary for India’s multi-format tour of South Africa. On December 10, 12, and 14, three Twenty20 Internationals will be contested in Durban, Gqeberha, and Johannesburg, respectively.

Johannesburg will also host the first of the three ODIs on December 17, with Gqeberha and Paarl hosting the second and third matches on December 19 and 21, respectively. The final two Tests of the World Test Championship 2023-25 will be contested in Centurion and Cape Town. The Boxing Day Test will be played in Centurion from December 26 to 30, followed by the New Year’s Test from January 7 to 11.

BCCI secretary Jay Shah stated, “The Freedom Series is significant not only because it features two excellent Test teams, but also because it honors Mahatma Gandhi and Nelson Mandela, two great leaders who shaped our respective nations and the world at large.”

“The Boxing Day Test and the New Year’s Test are two of the most significant matches on the international cricket calendar, and the schedule has been designed around these marquee dates. India has always gotten strong support in South Africa, and I am confident that fans will be treated to enthralling, intense contests,” he added.

Lawson Naidoo, chairman of the CSA, stated, “I anxiously anticipate the arrival of the Indian Cricket Team and their ardent fans on our soil. This is a crucial tour for both teams, and I am thrilled that we will be able to play all three formats of the game. Both South Africa and India possess remarkable talent, so we can anticipate thrilling cricket matches. The tour also enables us to showcase the best of South Africa, as matches have been scheduled throughout the country.
