It also put him ahead of Australia great Ricky Ponting to become the third player with the most ODI centuries. Rohit and David Warner of Australia are now tied for the fastest 1000 runs in the World Cup. They both got there in 19 games. His hundred in 62 balls was also the fastest by an Indian in the history of the World Cup.
On Wednesday, Rohit hit up to five sixes, which was more than Chris Gayle’s previous record for most international sixes. Gayle has 553 sixes in international cricket, while Rohit now has 556.
The former Pakistan cricketers are worried because Rohit’s amazing show of strokeplay happened right before the much-anticipated match against Pakistan. Did Wasim Akram say that Rohit looks like a totally different “beast”?
