On April 8, the Prime Minister will inaugurate and set the foundation stone for projects in Telangana totaling over 11,300 crore. PM Modi will also plant the cornerstone for the redevelopment of Telangana’s Secunderabad Railway Station.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Telangana, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka on April 8-9 to inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for development projects worth thousands of crores of rupees as part of a significant infrastructure and connectivity push for the southern states.

On April 8, the Prime Minister will inaugurate and set the foundation stone for projects in Telangana totaling over 11,300 crore. The Secunderabad-Tirupati Vande Bharat Express will be inaugurated by him at the Secunderabad Railway Station. PM Modi will also lay the cornerstone for the redevelopment of Secunderabad Railway Station and launch other railway-related development initiatives.

According to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), the Secunderabad-Tirupati Vande Bharat Express, which connects IT City, Hyderabad to the Abode of Lord Venkateswara, Tirupati, is the second Vande Bharat train to be launched from Telangana within three months. The railway will reduce travel time between the two cities by nearly three and a half hours, which will be especially advantageous for pilgrim passengers.

Planned at a cost of 720 crore, the redevelopment of Secunderabad Railway Station will involve a complete overhaul with world-class amenities and an aesthetically designed landmark station structure. The redeveloped station will feature a double-level, capacious roof plaza with all passenger amenities in one location, as well as multimodal connectivity for seamless passenger transfer from rail to other modes, according to a statement from the PMO.

During the program, the Prime Minister will inaugurate 13 new Multi-Modal Transport Service (MMTS) services in the Hyderabad-Secunderabad twin city region, giving commuters a rapid, convenient, and comfortable travel option.

In addition, he will inaugurate the expansion and electrification of the Secunderabad-Mahabubnagar project. The endeavor, which spanned more than 85 kilometers and cost close to 1,410 billion, has been completed. The initiative will facilitate seamless connectivity and contribute to increasing the average train speed.

Later in the day, the Prime Minister will set the foundation stone for AIIMS Bibinagar during a public ceremony at Hyderabad’s Parade Ground. The development of AIIMS Bibinagar will cost more than 1,350 crore. According to a PMO statement, the establishment of AIIMS Bibinagar is a significant step in providing comprehensive, qualitative, and holistic tertiary care health services to the people of Telangana at their doorstep.

During the program, the Prime Minister will also set the cornerstones for National Highway projects valued at over 7,850 crore. These road initiatives will improve Telangana and Andhra Pradesh’s road connectivity and contribute to the socioeconomic development of the region.

The Prime Minister will then travel to Chennai to inaugurate the New Integrated Terminal Building (Phase- 1) of Chennai International Airport, which cost 1,260 crore rupees to construct. This new Integrated terminal building will increase the airport’s passenger handling capacity from 23 Million Passengers Per Year (MPPA) to 30 MPPA. According to the PMO, the new terminal is a remarkable reflection of local Tamil culture, incorporating traditional elements such as the Kolam, Saree, Temples, and other elements that emphasize the natural surroundings.

PM Modi will launch the Chennai-Coimbatore Vande Bharat Express at a ceremony at MGR Chennai Central Railway Station. The Prime Minister will inaugurate the Express service from Tambaram to Sengottai. In addition, he will inaugurate a DEMU service between Thiruthuraipoondi and Agasthiyampalli, which will benefit commuters from the districts of Coimbatore, Tiruvarur, and Nagapattinam.

The Prime Minister will also inaugurate the 37-kilometer gauge conversion section between Thiruthuraipoondi and Agasthiyampalli, which cost 294 crore to construct. This will facilitate the transport of edible and industrial salt from Agasthiyampalli in the district of Nagapattinam.

In the afternoon, the Prime Minister will celebrate the 125th anniversary of Sri Ramakrishna Math in Chennai. Swami Ramakrishnananda established Sri Ramakrishna Math in Chennai in 1897. Ramakrishna Mission and Ramakrishna Math are spiritual organizations that engage in a variety of humanitarian and social service activities.

PM Modi will inaugurate and place the foundation stone for road projects worth approximately 3,700 crores during a public program at Chennai’s Alstrom cricket ground in the evening. These projects include the opening of a 7,3-kilometer elevated corridor in Madurai and a 24,4-kilometer four-lane section of National Highway 785.

In addition, the Prime Minister will cast the cornerstone for the construction of National Highway 744. The initiative, valued at more than 2,400 crore, will improve connectivity between Tamil Nadu and Kerala and make it easier for pilgrims to travel to Meenakshi Temple in Madurai, Andal Temple in Srivilliputhur, and Sabarimala in Kerala, according to a statement from the PmO.

On the morning of April 9, PM Modi will visit Bandipur Tiger Reserve and interact with frontline field staff and Self Help Groups engaged in conservation efforts. In addition, he will visit the Theppakadu Elephant camp in Mudumalai Tiger Reserve and interact with the camp’s mahouts and kavadis. He will also interact with the Field Directors of tiger reserves that received the highest scores in the most recent cycle of the Management Effectiveness Evaluation exercise.

Premier will inaugurate the International Big Cats Alliance (IBCA).

In July of 2019, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom called for a Global Alliance of Leaders to eliminate demand and prohibit poaching and illicit wildlife trade in Asia. As a continuation of the Prime Minister’s message, the alliance is being launched. IBCA will focus on the preservation and conservation of seven of the world’s most important big cats, including the tiger, lion, leopard, snow leopard, puma, jaguar, and cheetah, with membership from a variety of countries that are home to these species.

PM Modi will also launch the “Commemoration of 50 Years of Project Tiger” program. During the program, he will release the publications “Amrit kaal ka vision for tiger conservation,” a summary report of the 5th cycle of Management Effective Evaluation of Tiger Reserves, tiger population estimates, and a summary report of the All India Tiger Estimation. (5th cycle).

The Prime Minister will also unveil a commemorative coin to mark the completion of fifty years of Project Tiger.
