According to a report from The Washington Post, Hunter Biden, the son of US President Joe Biden, has filed a countersuit against a computer repair business proprietor in Delaware who worked on a laptop. The lawsuit is a response to a defamation complaint filed last year by the store proprietor, John Paul Mac Isaac. This is the most recent development in the dispute over how confidential data and photographs of the US President’s son were obtained nearly four years ago, the news source added.
Mr. Biden’s attorneys stated in the 42-page claim that Mr. Mac Isaac had no legal right to reproduce and distribute private information. They have accused the laptop repairman and others of invasion of privacy and data distribution conspiracy.
However, Mr. Biden does not disclose that the laptop is his in the filing. According to the filing, Mr. Mac Isaac acted irresponsibly with regard to the data discovered on the laptop and its hard drive.
They stated that reputable computer companies and repair personnel routinely expunge personal data from devices that have been abandoned or left behind, but do not “open, copy, or distribute the data to others.”

“Mac Isaac intended and knew, or clearly should have known, that those to whom he provided the data he believed belonged to Mr. Biden would use it against then-candidate Joseph Biden and to aid then-President Trump,” CNN reported, citing Mr Biden’s court filing from Friday.
In his lawsuit, the repairman claims that the laptop and external hard drive became his property in 2019 when Mr. Biden failed to retrieve them within 90 days of abandoning them at the shop. Mr. Mac Isaac also alleged that Mr. Biden defamed him by claiming he accessed the data unlawfully.
He gave the devices to the FBI and attempted to share the data on the hard drive with the attorney for former US President Donald Trump, Rudy Giuliani.
In the litigation, Mr Biden’s attorneys are requesting a deposition from Mr Giuliani.
