‘Disqualify me for life; put me in jail, I will keep going’: Rahul Gandhi

A day after being disqualified as the Lok Sabha MP from Kerala’s Wayanad, Congress’s Rahul Gandhi has said he was not afraid and did not care about being in jail.

A day after being disqualified as the Lok Sabha representative for Kerala’s Wayanad, Rahul Gandhi told the media on Saturday that he was not afraid and did not care about being disqualified or imprisoned.

“I have no fear and I do not care if I am disqualified for life or imprisoned. I will keep doing my duties. Will continue to challenge PM Modi and Adani’s connections. The leader, who was convicted by a Gujarat court for referring to criminals as having the surname Modi, stated, “I will continue to fight for the truth, which has become my motto.”

“I have been disqualified because the Prime Minister is afraid of my upcoming speech; I saw it in his eyes.” “Therefore, first the diversion, then the disqualification,” he said, bringing up the Adani issue and adding, “This is the entire drama that has been orchestrated to protect the Prime Minister from the simple question: Whose Rs 20,000 crore went to Adani’s shell companies?”

“My job is to defend the democratic nature of the country, which means defending the institutions of the country, defending the voice of the poor people of the country, and telling people the truth about people like Adani who are exploiting their relationship with the PM,” he said, escalating the Opposition’s demand for a Joint Parliamentary Committee Investigation into the Adani dispute.

When queried about the BJP leaders who demanded an apology for his ‘democratic’ remarks and in relation to the 2019 defamation case, he stated, “Rahul Gandhi believes he is not Vir Savarkar. Gandhi kisi se maafi nahi maangta.”
