UP CM Yogi Adityanath received death threat, case registered

On Tuesday, police in Lucknow announced that a case had been filed against an unidentified individual after a death threat was received against Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

On Tuesday, police in Lucknow announced that a case had been filed against an unidentified individual after a death threat was received against Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath.

The threat was received via ‘Dial 112’ (a number launched by the government of Uttar Pradesh for emergency services), in which the individual stated, “I will soon kill CM Yogi.”

After receiving the threat, the Operation Commander of ‘112’ submitted a report at the Sushant Golf City police station.

A case has been registered under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 506 and 507 and the Information Technology Act (IT Act) 66.

“A case has been registered under sections 506 and 507 of the Indian Penal Code and section 66 of the Information Technology Act against an unidentified person in PS Sushant Golf City,” police said.

In a separate incident on Sunday, police apprehended the author of a letter threatening a suicide bomb attack against Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his scheduled April 24 visit to Kochi.

The police have identified the defendant as Xavier.

K Surendran, the leader of the BJP in Kerala, stated on Saturday that he received a letter last week detailing a plot to assassinate Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Kochi City Police Commissioner K Sethu Raman told media, “The person who sent the threat letter to the Prime Minister has been apprehended. Yesterday, Xavier, the accused, was apprehended. The cause is personal hatred. He wrote the letter in order to trick his neighbor. We located him with the aid of forensic science.”

“Strict security has been arranged for the arrival of the Prime Minister in Kochi. 2060 officers have been assigned to this task. In conjunction with this, traffic control has been implemented beginning at 2 p.m.,” the Commissioner added.
