Louis Vuitton to welcome new Men’s Creative Director. His first collection for Louis Vuitton will be revealed next June in Men’s Fashion Week

The announcement that American singer and record producer Pharrell Williams will take over the reins of men’s collections at Louis Vuitton in his new role as the menswear creative director seems to be the biggest news in the fashion industry. The announcement was made by LVMH, which is the parent company of Louis Vuitton.

The record label gave Williams the characterization of “a visionary whose creative universes expand from music to art and to fashion – establishing himself as a cultural, global icon over the past twenty years.” During Men’s Fashion Week in Paris, which will take place in June of this year, he will present his debut collection for Louis Vuitton. Pietro Beccari, the Chairman and CEO of Louis Vuitton, was pleased to welcome the Grammy-winning producer and rapper Pharrell as the brand’s new Men’s Creative Director. In a statement, Beccari praised the new creative director, saying, “I am glad to welcome Pharrell back home, after our collaborations in 2004 and 2008 for Louis Vuitton, as our new Men’s Creative Director. His creative vision extends far beyond the realm of fashion, and it is without a doubt that he will steer Louis Vuitton into a new and very exciting chapter.

Williams is not making their first appearance in the fashion industry with this venture. In addition to his artistic collaborations with the French fashion brand, he also worked with the global leader in athletic apparel, Adidas, as well as the luxury brands Chanel and Moncler. Additionally, he had designed eyewear for LV in collaboration with the designer Marc Jacobs. In addition, Williams was a co-founder of the brands Billionaire Boys Club and Ice Cream Footwear, and he also had some success in the skincare industry with his brand Humanrace.

Williams’ predecessor, Abloh, was dubbed the “Karl Lagerfeld of his generation.” He was responsible for elevating streetwear to the highest levels of luxury and for opening the door to diversity and creativity beyond the realm of fashion. Abloh passed away in 2021. Williams began his tenure in 2022.
