Manik Saha to take oath as Tripura CM: Governor SN Arya will give Manik Saha his second oath of office as the chief minister of Tripura on Wednesday. Saha is a leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP President JP Nadda, and many other central leaders will be at the famous Vivekananda Stadium for the swearing-in of Saha and his council of ministers. PM Modi should arrive at the location in Agartala by 10:45 am.
“Manik Saha will swear in for the second time as the state’s chief minister at the Vivekananda ground. “The PM will be there,” said Subrata Chakraborty, the chief spokesperson for the BJP in Tripura.”This is the first time in the last 30 years that a government that is not on the left has stayed in power in the northeastern state. Chakraborty said, “We hope that the BJP 2.0 government will meet the needs of the people.”
In 1988, the Congress-TUJS beat the Left in the border state and became the government. However, the Communists won the election in 1993, and the Congress-TUJS lost power.
Thursday, the results of the Tripura Assembly elections were made public. In the recent Tripura assembly elections, the BJP won 32 of the 60 seats in the House, while its ally, the Indigenous People’s Front of Tripura, won only one seat.
Saha met with the Governor in Agartala on March 6, two hours after the joint legislature party meeting of the BJP and the IPFT, where he was chosen as leader. The Governor asked him to become the state’s 12th chief minister.
