What time and location will the landing occur?

On August 23, the lander module is scheduled to land on the lunar surface, making India the fourth country after the US, China, and Russia to accomplish this accomplishment. The historic landing’s date and timing were revealed by ISRO via a tweet that said, “Chandrayaan-3 is set to land on the Moon on August 23, 2023, around 18:04 Hrs. IST.”

The lander will try a “soft landing” in the Moon’s south pole area, according to an earlier announcement from ISRO. The lander’s propulsion module will keep orbiting the Moon after it touches down there in order to analyze the Earth’s atmosphere.

ISRO said the “eagerly anticipated event” will be live streamed on Wednesday “starting from 17:27 Hrs. IST” in a post on its official website. Several outlets, including the ISRO website, YouTube, ISRO’s Facebook page, and DD National TV channel, will offer live coverage.

“As a result, all schools and educational institutions across the country are invited to take part actively in this historic event,” the ISRO continued. The institutions are requested to vigorously promote this event among their teachers and students and to set up on-site LIVE broadcast of Chandrayaan-3’s gentle landing.
