Manchester United and Chelsea have enquired about a deal for Bayern Munich’s Marcel Sabitzer
The Bundesliga champions would be open to giving the Austrian midfielder time elsewhere, and an agreement with Manchester United could be a deal that suits both sides.
United, who are only pursuing temporary moves, suddenly have a shortage in midfield after the injury to Christian Eriksen, which is expected to leave him out until April, while Chelsea are surveying options as they restructure their midfield.
As a result of Christian Eriksen’s injury, Manchester United have begun negotiations with Bayern Munich to acquire the services of midfielder Marcel Sabitzer. Eriksen’s absence might be as long as four months.
On Saturday, the Dane was the victim of a terrible tackle that was made by Reading’s Andy Carroll, and initial evaluations suggest that Eriksen will be sidelined for at least the next 12 weeks due to his injuries.
This leaves Manchester United with Fred, Casemiro, and Scott McTominay available in midfield for the gruelling run of fixtures that will see Manchester United play 19 times in the next 57 days. McTominay is United’s most experienced player in the position.

Therefore, United has entered the market, and numerous rumours that have been breaking this afternoon suggest that the club has gone into discussions with Bayern for Sabitzer.
Since making the move to Bayern Munich from RB Leipzig two years ago, the midfielder has racked up 68 caps for Austria and has played 45 times for Bayern.
It is not entirely apparent whether the discussions concern a permanent deal or an emergency loan possibility; nonetheless, it is very clear that Ten Hag believes he has a lack of depth in the midfield.
United will be without Donny van de Beek for the rest of the season as a result of a knee injury that he sustained earlier this year. This injury will prevent him from playing for the rest of the season.
It has been determined that McTominay will not be able to play in either tonight’s match against Nottingham Forest or Saturday’s match against Crystal Palace.
