J. A. Chowdary, founder and chairman of the International Startup Foundation, was awarded a doctorate honoris causa by Chitkara University. This honor recognizes his exceptional and transformative contributions to the thriving field of entrepreneurship.

Dr. Ashok Chitkara and Dr. Madhu Chitkara conferred the degree upon him at the Chitkara University Punjab Campus.
Ashok Chitkara acknowledged J A Chowdary’s efforts and remarked, “An IT revolution in Hyderabad was made feasible by J A Chowdary’s exceptional leadership and key role. With numerous honors and accolades under his belt, he was able to effect social change. As an authority, he is frequently consulted on wide-ranging and crucial issues affecting IT industries around the world.
Madhu Chitkara congratulated J A Chowdary and stated, “Mr. Chowdary has a distinguished record of service in the IT industry. Throughout his 25-year tenure, he has contributed to a number of reputable organizations. He is always chasing new horizons and pursuing radical approaches that will influence the future.”
During the ceremony, J. A. Chowdary discussed his voyage and its lessons, as well as his experiences. He congratulated Chitkara University for the honor and remarked, “It is an honor to receive an Honorary Doctorate from Chitkara University. I would like to express my gratitude to Drs. Ashok and Madhu Chitkara for this honor. It is truly commendable how Chitkara has made a name for itself in the education industry by providing industry-focused courses. I hope they maintain their educational leadership and achieve new heights.”
He praised Chitkara University’s accomplishments in both education and entrepreneurship, highlighting the university’s industry-focused programs.
J A Chowdary holds a Master of Technology in solid state electronics from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras and a Master of Science from SK University. He began his career as a scientist at the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), where he designed telemetry subsystems for the Bhaskara, Rohini, and Aryabhata satellites.
He also worked for Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), where he contributed to the development of online monitoring mechanisms for pollution levels and process control instruments for BHEL power plants.
Chowdary is the recipient of the Meritorious Invention Award from the National Research Development Corporation, the HMA Award of Excellence for promoting the Indian IT industry, the HYSEA Award of Excellence for promoting the IT industry in Andhra Pradesh, and the HYSEA Life Time Achievement Award in 2020. He also received the Award of Excellence from the Texas Telugu Association in the United States.

Chowdary was the chairman of the Industry Development Forum for Andhra Pradesh, the co-chairman of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (Telangana and Andhra Pradesh), the president of the Anantapur Development Initiative Foundation, and the president of the Food 360 Foundation.
