Indian WWE Superstar Spectacle main event stars John Cena, Seth Rollins

WrestleMania 39, which took place back in April, was the arena in which John Cena competed for the last time.

The return of former WWE champion John Cena is avidly anticipated by wrestling fans worldwide. The 16-time world champion will appear on the very first episode of SmackDown at the Giant Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania, next month. In addition to the SmackDown event, WWE has already announced that Cena will participate in a tag team match at the September 8 Superstar Spectacular in Hyderabad.

Cena will partner up with world heavyweight champion Seth Rollins for the tag team match, and the duo will take on Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci of Imperium. This will be the first time that John Cena competes in front of an Indian throng.

WWE announced on social media that John Cena will team up with World Heavyweight Champion Rollins to face Kaiser and Vinci of Imperium at WWE Superstar Spectacular in Hyderabad on September 8.

Before the India event, WWE will host several events, including the Payback, which will feature a total of five matches. Rollins will defend his world heavyweight championship against Shinsuke Nakamura in one of these bouts. The fight will take place on September 2.

This will be the first time the Superstar Spectacle will be held before a live audience. The first episode of the program, which premiered on Republic Day in India in January 2021, was recorded at the Thunderdome. The Indus Sher duo of Veer and Sanga will team with Jinder Mahal to challenge Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn for the undisputed tag team championship on the September 8 episode of the program.

John Cena appears quite enthusiastic about his return to WWE. The wrestler-turned-actor expressed his sentiments on X: “Cannot wait to reunite with the WWE family live on SmackDown. I am ecstatic to meet the WWE Universe in India and to compete for the first time in India. The present time is now. See everyone very shortly!”

Cena’s last ring appearance was at WrestleMania 39 in April, when he challenged Austin Theory for the United States Championship. Cena maintained the upper edge for the majority of the match, but ultimately conceded to Theory, who secured the victory with his signature A-Town Down. Last month, Cena also made an unexpected appearance at Money in the Bank at The O2 Arena. He passionately argued that London should host a future WrestleMania, eliciting acclaim from the English audience.
